Version 2026-10-16 (draft)

1. Who may use InvestiSearch

InvestiSearch is for licensed private investigators and their businesses. A business signs up through its licensed owner or qualifying manager (the "Licensed Person"), who is verified once for the business. Where a state does not issue a private investigator license, the business must explain its situation and may be approved at InvestiSearch's discretion.

2. The business is responsible for its users

The Licensed Person may give employees and contractors ("Authorized Users") access. The business is responsible for everything its Authorized Users do with InvestiSearch. The business must: give access only to people it has authorized; make sure each person has their own account and never shares sign-in details; remove access promptly when someone leaves or should no longer have it; and make sure every Authorized User follows these Terms.

Each Authorized User must also accept these Terms before using the service.

3. Permitted use

You may use InvestiSearch only for lawful investigative work for your licensed business, in line with your license and all laws that apply to you. You are responsible for knowing and following those laws.

4. What you must not do

You must not use InvestiSearch to stalk, harass, threaten or unlawfully surveil anyone; to obtain information you have no lawful purpose for; to break the law or a court order; to share your account; or to try to get around the sign-in, security or access controls.

InvestiSearch is not a consumer reporting agency. Do not use its results to decide whether someone is eligible for credit, employment, insurance, housing or similar purposes. [ATTORNEY TO COMPLETE: confirm wording and any state rules.]

5. Information in the service, and its limits

Search results come from outside sources such as public court records and from information you or your colleagues enter. AI-generated summaries and answers can be wrong or incomplete. You must check anything important against the original source before relying on it. InvestiSearch does not give legal advice.

6. Your information

You keep ownership of the information you put into InvestiSearch. You give us permission to store and process it to run the service for you. Uploaded files and case information are visible only to the people in your business who are given access, according to the roles and case settings your business chooses. You can ask to delete your business's account and information; some records may be kept where the law requires or for security and billing (see the Privacy notice).

7. Security and your devices

Sign-in requires two steps. You must keep your devices, passwords, authenticator app and PINs private and use the device lock where offered. Tell us promptly if you think an account has been misused.

8. Subscriptions, seats, cancellation and refunds

Seats. A subscription includes one seat for the licensed owner or qualifying manager, plus any additional seats the business buys for its Authorized Users. A seat belongs to one named person at a time. A business may replace a person who has left or should no longer have access with another person at no charge, but may not share one seat among several people. Seats added during a billing period are charged for the rest of that period.

Monthly plans. A monthly plan renews every month on the day it started. It can be cancelled at any time, and access continues to the end of the period already paid for. There is no refund for the current period.

Annual plans. An annual plan can be cancelled within 14 days of starting for a full refund. After 14 days there is no refund, seats are not refunded or reduced before renewal, and the plan cannot be ended early. The business may turn off automatic renewal at any time, and the plan then ends at the end of the paid year.

[ATTORNEY TO COMPLETE: price and price changes, taxes, how and when renewal notices are sent, what happens on failed payment, and whether any of the above must change to follow automatic-renewal or consumer-protection rules that apply.]

9. Suspension and ending the agreement

We may suspend or end access if these Terms are broken, if a license cannot be verified or has expired, or to protect people or the service. A business may cancel at any time. [ATTORNEY TO COMPLETE: notice periods, data export and deletion timing.]

10. Disclaimers and limits of liability

[ATTORNEY TO COMPLETE: warranty disclaimer, limitation of liability, indemnity by the business for its users' conduct, dispute resolution.]

11. Changes, governing law and contact

[ATTORNEY TO COMPLETE: how changes are announced, governing law and venue, company legal name and contact address.] When these Terms change, people will be asked to accept the new version before they continue.
